Figtree is a small, family business, grown out of a passion for wine and a desire to bring exciting, top quality wines to Tanzania.  Each of our wines was hand-selected on the farm itself, working closely with the winemaker to decide which wines would find a natural home in our range.  The result is a portfolio containing something for every taste and every occasion, be it a summery, easy-drinking rosé for a picnic on the beach, or a top class pinot noir to add the finishing touch to a special meal. 

In tackling the challenge of transporting wine to Tanzania, we focused on how to get the wine to our customers in premium condition.  We have minimized the time in transit from Cape Town to Dar es Salaam, eliminating the risk of spoilage en route, and the wine is stored in a temperature-controlled environment.  All this means that when you pop the cork (or unscrew the cap!), you can enjoy the wine as the cellar master intended. 

On this website you can browse our range and e-mail your order to us, and we will deliver your wine to your door.  We have chosen to sell the wine directly to you for two reasons - we can be sure that the wine is stored in the correct conditions until it reaches you, and we can keep our prices as low as possible, avoiding mark ups from other retailers. We aim for next day delivery wherever possible, but if you need your wine faster than that (and we understand that at times you do!), let us know and we will do everything we can to get it to you in a matter of hours.

In addition, you can now buy your wine from the new Butcher Shop in Masaki. The Butcher Shop stocks a great selection of our wines, complete with information about all of the vineyards and wines to help you make your choice. The Butcher Shop is located on Kahama Road.  Coming along Chole Road from the direction of IST, Kahama Road is on the right just before the Slipway turnoff.  The Butcher Shop is the first building on the left.
